Ann E. Liston of Fort Hays State University will lead a discussion of Epitaph for a Peach by David Mas Masumoto at 2 PM on Sunday, October 31, sponsored by the Ashland Library, 604 Main St.
To help enjoy the “flavor” of this book, bring a peach dessert to share as we sample three of life’s greatest pleasures—eat, talk and read!
This final book in a four-part “Food for Thought” series is a delightful narrative on the author’s life as a Japanese American peach and grape farmer in California. Relationships, weather, the market, frustrations, and joys are all presented by Masumoto with poetic flair and a sense of humor.
The Talk About Literature in Kansas (TALK) book discussion series is provided by the Kansas Humanities Council (KHC), a nonprofit cultural organization with over 35 years of experience promoting understanding of the history and ideas that shape our lives and build community.
